04 Jan 5 Tips on Building Self Confidence
Having self confidence has to be the best thing since being able to ignore calls on your Android device while doing a bunch of other things.
Now, knowing you can boost your self confidence has to be as exciting as your iPhone allowing you perform other activities while ignoring a call.
The difference between this piece and your iPhone, is that you can actually boost your self confidence with these easy tips.
1. Control Your Narrative
If you’re battling low self esteem or lack of self confidence you should acquaint yourself with this fact:
Each and everyone of us has experienced a moment of self doubt.
So cut yourself some slack.
Low confidence usually stems from negative thoughts.
If you constantly bash yourself, your looks, skills, abilities, you’ll slowly become these pronouncements.
So the next time you experience this negativity, switch it up.
Think and talk positivity. Speaking things into reality, as cliché as it seems is a real thing. Try it.
2. Be Prepared
Instead of bashing yourself about your abilities you can simply upgrade them by beefing up your knowledge.
In greek methodology, the goddess Athena, Zeus’ favourite was not born in the usual way; rather she emerged from his head fully formed.
No, you’re not going to wake up with these great abilities. You have to put the work in. So try being overly prepared for everything.
Fail to plan, and plan to fail.
3. Focus on Positive Self Traits
We’ve been told several times that dreams are a manifestation of our thoughts. You think about something long enough, you have a dream about it.
Basically, what you focus on will eventually have a manifestation.
So try this; amp up how you feel about your positive traits.
Think about the little things. How your hair is probably pretty long, how there’s a little glint in your eyes, Your ability to bring a room to life without even trying.
Focusing on the positives will always go a long way.
4. Do You
There’s no unnecessarily ambiguous way to put this for it to seem more exciting.
Just do you.
Comparing yourself to anyone else is a great way to make yourself feel horrible and will definitely affect your self confidence. Try to focus on your little victories and live in your own moment.
Stop pressuring yourself.
5. Fake It Till You Make It
No, I don’t mean live above your means or anything like that (this isn’t that type of show, love).
I mean practice being self confident. Put your self out there, attempt previously scary feats. The only way to do it is to do it. So, not to sound repetitive but, do it.
As Barrie Davenport puts it “Low self confidence isn’t a life sentence. Self confidence can be learned, practiced, and mastered like any skill. Once you master it, everything in your life will change for the better.”
So, try out these tips today, who knows, we might be on to something.
